Happy 244th Birthday Army!

The Army Birthday Ball gathers current and former Army members from around the world to honor our proud military history and traditions. This year, we are honoring the call to service from D-day to Today. Join us at the Army's 244th Birthday Ball for an evening of dining, dancing, and entertainment!

Location: Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington DC 20009. Reception begins at 5:00 pm. The program starts at 6:30 pm. The formal portion concludes around 9:00 pm and the ballroom closes at midnight.

The Washington Hilton is accepting hotel reservations for our upcoming event. Please make your reservations no later than May 31, 2019,at 1-800-HILTONS (refer to the group code ARMY). After the May 25th cut-off date, the Hilton cannot guarantee guest room availability.

Please be attentive to the ticket processing fees.

V.I.P. tickets will be available for purchase starting at 0900 on 20-21 May (By Invitation Only). General Admission tickets will be available for purchase starting at 0900 on 22 May 2018.

What's the refund policy?

All tickets are nonrefundable.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

A valid Government Issued ID (i.e. Military ID, State Driver’s license) is necessary for registered attendee verification and ticket purchase conformation. There is not a minimum age requirement, but children must be accompanied by adults at all times. For nursing mothers, a lactating room will be available. Children 2 and under do not need a ticket!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There will be free parking and a shuttle bus service, beginning at 1620, on 15 June 2019, from the Pentagon South Parking Lot to the hotel and back to the lot.

Lanes reserved for personnel using the shuttle service are Pentagon South Lanes 12-18 and 20-26. Personnel parking at the Pentagon will be directed from the Parking Lot to the Pentagon Transportation Center to board busses to the Hilton Hotel. Shuttle users will be provided a decal to display on car dashboard. This service is only for purchased/registered Army Birthday Ball ticket holders (valid government issued ID and ticket purchase confirmation is required prior to boarding the shuttle). The last shuttle will leave the hotel 0030-0100 hrs.

The Hilton hotel has a two-story, 240-space, underground Valet attendant-controlled parking garage for hotel guests and Birthday Ball attendees (you pay). Parking at the hotel is limited and will be first-come, first served. There is also a self-parking garage across from the hotel on T Street (you pay), but parking is limited.

What can I bring into the event?

To provide a safer environment for all attendees and expedite entry into the birthday ball, there will be limits on the size and type of bags that may be brought into the ball room.

Attendees are encouraged to limit the number of items they bring to the ball. Prohibited items include but are not limited to: coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, computer bags, camera bags, and luggage of any kind or any bag larger than the permissible size and of a different type.

This is aimed at enhancing safety while also allowing attendees to enter the ball in a timely manner.

Purse examples with dimensions

Approximately the size of a hand – no larger the 4.5” x 6.5”

  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap and be taken into the ball with one of the clear plastic bags.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the check point.

What is the dress code for this event?

The Army Birthday Ball is a black tie event. Military personnel will wear dress mess or ASUs (for safety and comfort reasons, if appropriate uniforms are insufficient or unavailable, pregnant service members are invited to wear gowns); formalwear recommended for civilian personnel.

Is childcare available for this event?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare for the Army Birthday Ball.

What's the refund policy?

All purchases are final. There are no refunds.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. The event only requires you to bring picture ID upon check in. It is recommended you bring your ticket confirmation number in case you require assistance with your ticket. You will receive a table card after you check in at the Hilton on the evening of the ball.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. Return to the event link in your confirmation email, visit https://2019armybirthdayball.eventbrite.com, or contact the Help Desk.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

All ticket sales are non-refundable. You have the ability to change the name on the ticket once you have purchased it, but there are no refunds.

Can I bring my therapy/emotional support animal?

Unfortunately, due to food preparation and service regulations in the hotel, we cannot allow animals into this event with the exception of ADA service animals. If you have specific needs that require assistance, please either indicate this in your ticket registration or contact the help desk, and we will work with the hotel to accommodate your needs to the best of our capability.

If I reserve my hotel room in advance, does this put me ahead on the list for a ticket?

No. Hotel room reservations are separate from ticket purchases. A hotel room reservation does not guarantee a ticket. No tickets will be sold at the door; all tickets are sold in advance of the event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No; the name on the ticket must match the person who attends. An attendee’s identity will be verified at the event registration entrance. Your ocnfirmation email allows you to change the name on your ticket. Please call the help desk if you need to substitute or change attendees prior to the event.

When will I receive my seating information?

Your table information will be provided to you at the check-in desk at the ball.

If I am dual status (e.g. GS13 full time and O4 in the Reserve Component), what rank do I use?

Please register in the category corresponding to your full time rank.

What will be this year's entertainment?

Featuring world class military entertainment from the United States Army Field Band and invited soloists as well as a return performance by DJ Jena Red.

As a plus one to a DOD member attending the ball, what is the price of my ticket?

A plus one attendee pays the same cost as his/her DOD member. Example: I am a GS-13 and bringing my non-DoD significant other as my guest. I will pay for two tickets under my GS-13 ticket tier.
